NETWORK "ENERGY IN THE CHILD'S
ENVIRONMENT" |

| Aim of network: To Promote the rational
use of energy in the environment of the child. |
Two main factors : The acquaintance of children
with the renewable sources of energy and the saving
of energy in the places they live and move.
The participants up to this moment: 40 schools
of the Primary Educational Administration and Secondary Educational
Administration, 8 Centres connected to Environmental Education,
Persons in charge of Environmental Education of the Prefectures,
the Energy
Centre of Thessaly and the Laboratorial
Centre of Natural Sciences of Karditsa. |

Collaborations: With public institutions and
organisations particularly with those that have a relation to
education but also companies that have a relation with energy.
Of great importance is the contribution of the Local Communities
and parents.
Network operation: thze Network
is approved from the Ministry of Education . The
schools conduct annual
programs with regard to energy. |

| The Centres of Environmental Education support
the programs of schools and the teachers with training seminars,
meetings of school teams and the concretisation of programs in
the premises of the Centres. They produce suitable educational
material and maintain web pages for the publication of each exhibition.
The Persons in charge of Environmental Education in
each state; help in connection with the schools and
collaborate with the Centres for the completion of the training,
seminars and meetings |

.The
Energy Centre of Thessaly provides special knowledge
and technical support to the Network. The Laboratorial Centre
of Natural Sciences is in charge of the growth of
the experiments that help in the school programs. Also, there
exists a coordinative committee
of representative institutions that participate and
that help in the planning of the Network. On a daily basis the
CEE
(the Center of Environmental Education) of Mouzaki coordinates
the operation. The network is open to all new collaborations.
The Growth of educational material: The network
develops educational material on the basis of various thematic units which
have been pre-determined. |
