SUMMARY OF PROGRAM

Aims

  1. Sensitization in the soft forms of energy.
  2. Possibilities of use of hydroelectric energy.
  3. Repercussions of use of hydroelectric energy.
  4. Changes of attitudes and behaviors of children that are involved and its wider social team.
 

Activities:

  1. Visit in the hydroelectric power station Kalipefkis of Larissa
  2. Visit in the dam of Livadi.
  3. Visit University of Athens.

WIND SOURCE OF ENERGY IN THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE POSSIBILITIES OF
EXPLOITATION OF AEOLIAN ENERGY IN LIVADI ELASSONAS

The choice of subject our environmental team has chosen to deal with is followed on the criterion of two basic ideas:

 

a) The pastime of students with the ways of exploitation of aeolian energy will help them realize the necessity and the methods of use of renewable sources of energy, a fact of exceptional importance for modern society of pollution and energy problem.

b) It appears there exists possibilities of exploitation of aeolian energy in the wider region of Livadi where intense winds are observed make it probable to develop the operation of an aeolian park. The manufacture and the operation of such unit could involve also economic profits in the Municipality.

For the concretization of the Program the students are separated in teams with separate roles, each one will deal with the following:

  1. The historical course of exploitation of the wind
  2. The necessity of use of soft forms of energy
  3. Study and presentation of aeolian potential in the region
  4. Report in Greek-European - World policy on issues involving exploitation of aeolian energy
  5. Report on issues, management of aeolian parks
  6. Sensitization of common opinion and activation of local self-government from forms of publications.
